tash & chris

I have known Chris for many years, taking photos for his Champagne company countless times. So I was touched to have been asked to be his wedding photographer. Especially when he told me he would be getting married to his fiancee in Humbledon and essentially making the entire thing themselves.

On the first venue visit the weather was miserable and it was hard to imagine the cricket pitch, and tiny town surrounding it, in any other light. The did, after all, not have any contingency plan for rain! But as we approached the day the message was no longer ‘what happens if it rains’ it was ‘how are we going to cool everyone down?!’

Direct sunlight is often a nightmare for a wedding photographer. What you want is a light smattering of cloud to create texture in the sky and a natural soft-box across your subjects. Leading up to this one I was a little worried.

Want happened was the light roads that ran through the town reflected and incredible amount of light and the enormous trees found in the surrounding countryside created the most amazing breaks in the sunlight and some of the most incredible contours on Tash & Chris’ face I could have hoped for. And the sunset was breathtaking. Golden hour casting the most wonderful yellow glow across the fleet of old cars a family friend had brought in just for the wedding.

it pays to have friends who collect weird and wonderful things!
